The city of Ushuaia, on the banks of the Beagle Channel, has numerous museums where you can relive the history of the ancient inhabitants of these distant southern lands. Visit the “Bahía Encerrada” nature reserve, the old prison museum and the Martial glacier.
From the port of Ushuaia, boat rides depart daily to visit the renowned Beagle Channel. During the navigation, you can admire multiple islands where the marine fauna of these latitudes abounds. Finally you will reach the legendary Lighthouse at the End of the World.
To the west of Ushuaia is located the impressive Tierra del Fuego National Park, made up of Patagonian forests, lakes, valleys and extensive peatlands. The park is crossed aboard the picturesque End of the World Train, and continuing by vehicle to Lapataia Bay.
In the surroundings of Ushuaia you will find numerous valleys and fantastic lakes of glacial origin such as Escondido, Fagnano and Esmeralda. These lakes are framed by the incredible Patagonian forest which is an ideal place for hiking in Argentina.
